The annual returns of assets and liabilities were required to be filed under Section 44 of the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013. The said section of the Act has been amended by Lokpal and Lokyukatas (Amendment) Act, 2016 on 29-07-2016. This Amendment Act shall be deemed to have come into force on 16-01-2014.
This was stated by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply to a question by Shri Dilipbhai Pandya in the Rajya Sabha today.
